I’m in my mid-fifties and thus encountering limits to my knowledge of things my son’s generation simply blinks at. If you are a learner like me, these bits of basic info may be of help:

PDA= portable digital assistants
These are the various gizmos onto which which people in transit are downloading and reading your writing. They are also called portable handheld devices. iphones, blackberrys, Kindles, Sony readers and the like.
Do the Math
1 Bit x 1000 = a Byte
1 Byte x 1000 = a Kilobyte
1 Kb x 1000 = a Megabyte
1 MB x 1000 = a Gigabyte
1 GB x 1000 = a Terabyte
An average ebook of approx. 220 pages uses about 1/4 of the storage space taken up by an average MP3 tune. If your ipod holds 500 tunes, it could hold about 2000 ebooks.Of course, an ipod does not hold any ebooks at all right now. It likely will soon. Or its replacement. We’re simply comparing storage space between an average itune and a text-only ebook.
